  • Introduction

    The Centre for Health and Disability Assessments conducts health and disability assessments on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions. Working from a network of 11 Business Support Centres and 150 Assessment Centres, assessments are conducted in the main areas of Employment and Support Allowance, Disability Living Allowance, Veterans UK and Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit.  Our practitioner group includes employed nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and doctors.

    Job Summary

    The main function of this role will be to support the facilitation and delivery of the New Entrant programme for all new HCPs joining the business and will be required to commit to being available for the duration of the programmes as shown:

    • Nurses – 23 Days
    • Physiotherapists – 26 Days
    • Doctors - 8 Days

    The Clinical Training Delivery Consultant will work in conjunction with the Area Manager and central Learning and Development functions to ensure that all programmes are fully supported for delivery and will provide coaching and mentoring support to the National Trainers to build increased levels of facilitation skills.

    Essential Job Duties

    • Ensure all training programmes required in each region are fully staffed by the National Training team
    • Providing feedback and coaching support to National Trainers to aid in the development of their own facilitation and delivery skills
    • Where required to deliver training in line with the DWPs Medical Services professional standards
    • Face to face delivery of classroom elements of the New Entrant programme when required
    • Providing feedback and coaching support to New Entrants with further feedback provided to their line managers as part of programme requirements
    • Providing feedback to L&D and Clinical teams to aid programme enhancement
    • Supporting the L&D and Clinical Author teams in the creation of new learning materials where required
    • Accurate reporting of delegate performance and pass rates for each cohort
    • Working in partnership with Area Manager to drive improvements in training attrition levels

    Education and Experience Requirements

    • Previous training experience required
    • Coaching and mentoring experience
    • Full knowledge of the training cycle
    • Ability to deliver feedback in order to drive performance improvement
    • Ability to facilitate learning through presentations, practical activities, coaching and feedback techniques
    • Ability to make decisions based on data in order to direct learners
    • Strong analytical skills with ability to collect, analyse and disseminate data with attention to detail, accuracy, and data quality
    • The ability to effectively interact with senior operations stakeholders
    • A team player approach, building effective relationships with team members and colleagues
    • Ability to work cross functionally and collaborate with others
    • Accountable for own actions and results
    • Performance driven and results orientated with the ability to work to deadlines
